Starbucks has just announced that the walking dead are invading … in the form of bright green Zombie Frappuccinos hit coffee chain locations in the US and Canada Oct. 26.
Visited my regional Starbucks in Brooklyn, New York this morning to give it a try. But there’s also tart taste of a green apple.
Like a lot of Starbucks’ seasonal sweet treats, I found the drink to be rather hefty and filling, so opt for the tall size should you get one. However, I wasn’t even able to complete that.
Of course, the brand new drink is just another made-for-Instagram type of beverage, just enjoy the Unicorn and Rainbow beverages last spring. While this sugar bomb can also be a blanket of calories (a grande Zombie Frappuccino has almost 300 calories), so it’s probably a fantastic thing it is only around for just one week.
“When imagining a new Frappuccino taste for this Halloween, we started by considering a Halloween party and monster mash,” Jennica Robinson of Starbucks beverage development team, said in a statement.
“We’d already invited Frankenstein and witches into the celebration, so we came up with another monster that could join the bash.”
This is not the first Halloween-themed drink that Starbucks has established. In 2014, the world was introduced by the series in 2014 to the Franken Frappuccino. The vampire-themed Frappula Frappuccino came out in 2016 and 2015. Recently, there was, of course, that the Vampire Frappuccino released in London.
